Challenge

Cooperative societies run on trust and bookkeeping, and most of that bookkeeping lived in spreadsheets: loan schedules, savings plans, and member ledgers that were easy to get wrong and hard to audit.

Approach

I designed and built Koprative as a full-stack SaaS: loan management, savings plans, credibility rankings, and double-entry style ledgers, with payments through Monnify and infrastructure on AWS. The frontend is Nuxt, the API is Node.js on MongoDB.

Outcome

Cooperative institutions get an auditable system of record for their members’ money, with payments and rankings built in rather than bolted on.
