Hourfolk: a calmer way to work across time zones

Challenge
Every team I have worked with lived in a different time zone from me, and so did clients, and so did family. The arithmetic never stops: is 2pm in New York still today for me, will a reminder set in Lagos fire at the right moment for Riyadh, which meeting slot is humane for everyone. The tools I tried were either bloated or made me do the maths myself.
Approach
I designed and built Hourfolk as a Manifest V3 Chrome extension: saved city clocks that tick together with day badges and hour differences, a planner that understands phrases like “2pm in New York” or “tomorrow at 9am Tokyo” and explains DST gaps and ambiguities instead of guessing, and reminders that fire as Chrome notifications with early alerts. It runs as a popup, a side panel, or a full dashboard from one shared domain layer, and keeps everything on the device with no account and no analytics.
Outcome
Hourfolk shipped on the Chrome Web Store in September 2026, with a marketing site that scores 100 for performance and SEO on Lighthouse, a suite of 250+ tests, and a Mac app on the way. It is the tool I open first every morning.
